Scholarly Interests:
Ancient,
Medieval, and Early Modern European history.
Her research area is medieval Italian history,
with emphasis on the continuity of feudalism and
analysis of land contracts as they affected lord-peasant
relations. This research is focused particularly
on North-central Italy from the 12th to the 15th century. In recent years, she has chosen
to focus on teaching, developing courses on the
ancient Mediterranean world.
